When a smile makes all the difference
This is where Lucien's story begins to be told. Freelance reporter Tekla Luchenski decided to answer the much-asked question, "who is that Mad Hatter guy?" by simply approaching him and inviting him to a coffee and a chat for a Rat Creek Press article. Of course, with Lucien, that means a bottle of sparkling mineral water in a champagne glass at his favourite haunt, Spinelli's Bar Italia. They are always happy to greet him there.
Word spreads to Werther's Original
Rat Creek Press, January, 2019:
Lucien Facciotti is becoming well known for his candy mission since his story appeared in the RCP October 2018 edition. Now, more people recognize and greet him on the street. Some gift him with Werther’s Original candies for his happiness mission. Werther’s Original Canada read the story and sent Facciotti a generous supply of their product—his chosen candy for spreading love in the community, one piece of candy at a time. You can find Facciotti walking on 111 Ave between Kingsway and 95 St, wearing his iconic Mad Hatter hat and a long black trench coat. | Tekla Luchenski
